Gerard Paynter a senior consultant in Barton Deakin’s Brisbane office where he takes primary responsibility for clients on Queensland Government matters.  He brings to Barton Deakin a 20 year professional history in the Queensland corporate and public sectors and a strong working knowledge of government business matters in the state.

Gerard works with Barton Deakin’s clients on a wide variety of government business, regulatory, legislative and approvals matters.

He is an experienced Liberal National Party figure having been a Queensland and Federal Young Liberal president and a member of the Queensland State Executive for five years.  He has extensive experience in managing LNP campaigns at the state and federal level and was a member of the Central Campaign Committee for the successful re-election of Brisbane Lord Mayor, Graham Quirk, and LNP councillors in 2012.

Gerard holds degrees in Commerce and Arts (Government and Economics) from the University of Queensland and a Graduate Diploma in Finance and Investment. Gerard is a member of Brisbane City Council's Transport Advisory Board.
